All of a sudden, I’m a grown up.

Growing up is something you always want as a child and fear as a young adult. Although I’m not “old” just yet, being 23 has me thinking about being a grown up. I’m now that guy who is 23 and doing all that stuff. The guy I looked up to when I was a teenager and thought I’d never be able to do all of that.

Looking back on my life so far I think I’ve made a pretty good effort at making the most of what I have. I can say that the past 23 years have been interesting and exciting, and most of all I’ve grown as a person every year.

Each year has been significantly different from the last, especially in the past 5 years. The year I turned 18 was the year of self discovery and independence as I moved out of home. The year I turned 19 was a year full of growth and change, as I moved to the city, started a degree and traveling. The year I turned 20 was a time where I found out what true friendship, love, commitment and closeness was. The year I turned 21 was the year I lost everything, hit rock bottom and learned to pick myself up; I changed as a person and I started this blog! The year I turned 22 I finished my degree, traveled around the world and really started to understand what life is about. My 23rd year, right now, I feel is about growing up. It’s about finally knowing what I want in life and how to achieve it. Moving to NYC was my way of forcing myself to harden up. I’m a big kid now.

So here’s the deal. This year is my year to get my shit together. All of a sudden, I’m a grown up.
